Education is not merely a process of transferring knowledge (knowledge transfer), but also a process of humanization that includes the formation of character, the inculcation of values of empathy, and the provision of a safe and conducive environment for the development of learners. In a concrete effort to respond to the social challenges in the educational world, particularly the rampant practice of bullying (bullying), students of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program of Calon Guru from the Indonesian Institute of Education (IPI) Garut held a Socialization Event on Bullying Prevention titled “Safe School, Comfortable Learning”.
The activity that took place on Friday, September 18, 2026, in the Aula of SMPN 5 Tarogong Kidul was designed and implemented entirely by PPG students as part of fulfilling the project leadership course assignment. This course was designed to hone the transformative leadership and social responsibility of prospective professional educators so that they are able to identify and solve strategic issues in the school ecosystem. The implementation of this leadership project was directly supervised intensively by the supervising lecturer, Dr. Ade Suherman, M.Pd., who emphasized the importance of preventive-based educational intervention (preventive measures).
Regulatory Framework and Multistakeholder Synergy
This strategic move aligns with the government's latest regulatory framework, namely Regulation Number 6 of 2026 on Safe and Comfortable School Culture by the Minister of Basic and Middle Education (Permendikdasmen). This regulation establishes a solid legal foundation for all educational institutions to actively design, implement, and oversee violence prevention programs and create a conducive learning ecosystem.
This socialization activity was enthusiastically attended by all members of the Tarogong Kidul SMPN 5 community. The participants included the principal, teachers from various subject areas, teachers of guidance and counseling (BK), and representatives of students from various grade levels. This cross-sectoral presence reflects a shared awareness that creating a school culture that is child-friendly as mandated by Permendikdasmen No. 6 of 2026 is a collective responsibility that requires integrated, holistic, and sustainable approaches.
To strengthen the legal and social perspective, this activity featured speakers from the Police Department, namely Aiptu Umar Taufik, S.Sos.i. In his humanistic and persuasive presentation, he outlined various forms of bullying, ranging from physical violence, verbal intimidation, social isolation, to cyberbullying The issue of digital harassment is prevalent in the digital age, as well as its legal implications and its impact on the mental health of the victims. He emphasized that the handling of bullying should prioritize the psychological recovery of the victims and the behavioral remediation of the perpetrators through educational methods, rather than merely imposing punitive penalties.
Academic and Humanist Perspectives: A Safe Environment for Optimal Learning
Viewed from the perspective of educational theory and developmental psychology, the creation of a safe school environment (safe school environment) is a prerequisite for the creation of an effective learning climate (effective learning climate). When fear, anxiety, and intimidation threats can be minimized, learners have ample space to explore, express, and optimally realize their academic and non-academic potential. B.K. teachers and educators act as the primary pillars of student protection, while students are encouraged to become agents of change (agent of change) as well as pioneers and reporters (2P) in rejecting all forms of violence in the school environment.

Real Contribution Through the External Aspect of ISBN Books and Intellectual Property Rights
As a form of real and sustained academic commitment, this PPG IPI Garut Student Leadership Project does not stop at organizing socialization events alone. This activity produced two outstanding outcomes of high scientific value:
- Books with an ISBN
The PPG IPI Garut students published a scientific and practical guide titled “A Safe and Comfortable School: Building a School Culture that is Caring, Friendly, and Free from Bullying and Violence”. This officially registered and ISBN-numbered book contains theoretical analysis, practical guidance on early detection of bullying, intervention strategies for B.K. teachers, and implementation measures for establishing a school culture based on Permendikdasmen No. 6 of 2026. This book is expected to serve as a reference literature for educators, principals, and educational practitioners in various regions.
- Certificate of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
All copyrights of the written works and guide modules produced in this project have been registered and legally recognized as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia. This IPR achievement confirms that the produced works meet the standards of academic originality and can be widely utilized by the public as research reference materials and in the implementation of violence prevention policies in schools.
Sustainable Commitment Towards Child-Friendly Schools
Dr. Ade Suherman, the Faculty Advisor of the IPI Garut PPG Program, highly appreciated the dedication of the PPG students who were able to produce concrete academic outputs and have a real impact on society. He stated that the success of publishing an ISBN book and obtaining intellectual property rights (IPR) is evidence of the commitment of prospective professional teachers in presenting concrete solutions to real problems in the world of education.
The SMPN 5 Tarogong Kidul also welcomes this synergy and is committed to implementing the ideas and guidelines from the book into the school’s daily governance and culture. Through the integration of socialization, strengthening regulations, collaborative action, and the ownership of recognized academic works, this activity serves as a strong foundation in creating a school that is a safe, comfortable, and humanizing place for growth.
